The Donkey Sanctuary launches nationwide tour
A series of interactive donkey workshops to help owners understand their pets is being hosted by the Donkey Sanctuary this year.
The Devon-based charity will be running the “Why does my donkey?” summer tour around the UK to provide advice for owners and to help unravel some of the myths surrounding donkey behaviour
Ben Hart, the charity’s donkey care training manager said: “Owning or caring for donkeys can be challenging at the best of times, but when donkey behaviour stops making any sense to us, or donkeys behave in an inappropriate way, it can be problematic and confusing.
“Whether you are an experienced equine owner, have newly acquired donkeys or are thinking of purchasing one of our four-legged friends — this workshop is for you.”
The workshops will focus on catching, leading and picking out donkeys feet and understanding why donkeys behave and act as they do.
Organisers also aim to help with the questions “does your donkey refuse to stand quietly for the farrier or vet”? And “does your donkey spook at things when you are out for a walk”?
“Why does my donkey?” will be touring the UK from April to November.
