Shirtmaker collars the job of making Team GB formal wear

  • Shirtmaker Katherine Partis will provide red, white and blue striped shirts as part of the uniform for Equestrian Team GBR at the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games (WEG).

After attending a number of shows and events, it was Katherine’s first-time Badminton stand in 2009 that caught the eye of Sophie Thomas, the British Equestrian Federation’s World Class Performance assistant.

“I was at Badminton and Sophie spotted my shirts,” said Katherine, who is based in Bath. “She and World Class Performance manager, Sarah Armstrong, visited me at the Royal Show and it went from there.”

Katherine was asked to create shirts for the European Championships at Windsor in 2009 and now WEG.

“I’ve got around 70 shirts to make for WEG and they will all be in the red, white and blue striped fabric I used for ladies at the Europeans. The special order fabric has just arrived.

“Although most of the shirts are standard sizes, I have a few made to measures as well. The shirts will be finished this month and I can’t wait to see them being worn!”

And you too can support the Brits by wearing the official team shirt.

Katherine Partis will be attending Blair Castle Horse Trials, Burghley and Horse Of The Year Show where her shirts will be available at a show price of £49 — they cost £59 when ordered online.
