Royal opening for rescue centre


  • The ILPH’s president, Princess Anne, will officially open the new purpose-built equine unit at Hall Farm in Snetterton, South Norfolk today (Monday 23 June).

    The Princess Royal will tour the charity’s new equine recovery and rehabilitation centre, meeting ILPH staff and equine residents before unveiling a commemorative plaque shortly after 1.30pm.

    The new equine unit, which opened its doors to members of the public at Easter, includes a visitors’ centre, lecture room, and an additional 29 loose boxes as well as purpose built veterinary, farriery and recovery boxes. Also included on site are staff offices, rest room and living accommodation.

    Visitors can browse in the gift shop and visit the caf‚ for refreshments before walking around the extensive grounds to see the rescued horses and ponies.

    The centre is open to the public on Wednesdays, Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays from 11am-4 pm.
