Prize money almost doubled for some Blenheim classes


  • Riders at Blenheim this year (9-12 September) will be competing for higher stakes thanks to a new title sponsorship for the horse trials.

    The Fidelity Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials will have increased prize money across the board. In some classes the fund has doubled.

    Blenheim’s British CIC*** championship for eight- and nine-year-old horses has also been extended across all four days of the competition so more than 70 combinations to take part.

    The winning riders of the CCI*** and CIC*** eight- and nine-year-old British Championship classes will now take home £8,000 (up from £5,000 last year) and £2,000 (up from £1,000) respectively and place money will also receive a boost.

    “We have been very fortunate with a new title sponsor [Fidelity International] and great support from our long term loyal partners including Ariat, Petplan and Amtrust so are now in a position to up the prize pot,” said Blenheim’s event director, Mandy Hervieu.

    “We have made improvements across the board to boost the Blenheim experience for all of the people who come to the event — and it’s nice to be able to upgrade the facilities and the prize money for riders as well.”
