Nominate your feed or tack merchant for a chance to win a saddle

  • You could win your horse a new saddle by nominating your favourite equestrian shop, website or catalogue for a prestigious national award.

The South Essex Insurance Brokers (SEIB) Retailer of the Year Award is one of 10 British Equestrian Trade Association (BETA) Business Awards, to be presented next February.

“When you go horsey shopping, a good retailer can make all the difference by offering a reliable service and helpful advice,” says Nicolina MacKenzie of SEIB.

The award will be judged in three categories, large and small tack shops plus internet and mail order retailers, so businesses of all types and sizes will be considered.

And everyone who nominates will be entered into a free prize draw to win a £299 Wintec 500 GP saddle.

As well as this public vote, categories in the 2009 BETA Business Awards open to the trade, are:

The TSM Rider Award — companies can nominate the rider they believe works hardest for his or her sponsors.

Former winners of this award include show jumpers Ellen Whitaker and Tim Stockdale and eventers Mary King and Matt Ryan.

UKTI Export Award — companies of all sizes that have generated substantial and sustained increases in export activity over a period of three years can be entered for this award.

BETA Lifetime Achievement Award — marking the person who has made significant contributions to the equestrian industry over a period of time

Harry Hall Retail Employee of the Year — to be awarded to the employee showing initiative, excellence in customer service, product knowledge and commitment to professional retailing.

Joules Equestrian Event of the Year — this accolade acknowledges the event or show that best works with its trade exhibitors, taking their needs and requirements into consideration.

BETA Trade Website of the Year — this award will go to the equestrian trade related website judged to be the most informative and useful to the consumer and/or the trade.

Nominations for the SEIB Retailer of the Year close on 7 December.
