New farriery competition for Newark and Notts for 2011
A new farriers’ competition is to take place at next year’s Newark and Nottinghamshire County Show.
The recently crowned world champion farrier Steven Beane will be the judge at the inaugural event.
Steven, based in Northallerton, Yorkshire, has now be named world champion at the World Farriery Championships in Calgary, Canada, two years running.
The competition will be supported by The Farriery Training Agency and Myerscough College while Arthur Cottam & Co will be supplying prizes plus steel, nails and tools.
The 2011 Newark & Nottinghamshire County Show will be held on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 May with the Farriers’ Competition taking place over both days.
