Naked ‘Lady Godiva’ ride through Hyde Park for charity

Would you dare to bare? To coincide with the DVD release of her film Lady Godiva, writer and director Vicky Jewson is looking for 50 women to take part in a naked ride through London’s Hyde Park on 19 May.

And for every rider who forgoes their clothing, Ms Jewson will donate £5 to Maggies, a network of cancer units in Scotland and Oxford.

The naked ride will be led by Ms Jewson’s sister, Libby, who caused a stir by riding naked to the film’s premiere in Oxford this January.

Ms Jewson told H&H: “A mass Lady Godiva ride is a fantastic chance for people to get involved and raise money for charity in a quirky way.

“Lady Godiva rode naked for the greater good and that’s what we’re doing.”

The film is a modern take on the story of Lady Godiva, an 11th-century noblewoman who, according to legend, rode naked through Coventry in protest against her husband’s harsh taxation of his people.
