Man fined for using pony and trap in public park
A Surrey man has been ordered to pay more than £500 for using his pony and trap in a public park.
David Chaulk from Shepperton was fined £330 by Staines Magistrates’ court — plus £241.50 council prosecutions costs and a victim surcharge over £15.
Neighbours complained to the police that he was exercising his pony in Littleton Recreation Ground last September.
Staines Magistrates Court fined him on Wednesday 4 March for breaking council bylaws that prohibit vehicles being brought into the Borough’s parks.
Cllr Denise Grant said: “Taking this type of vehicle into the park can be very dangerous so we are pleased with the decision taken by the court”.
