Laura Collett recovering at Oaksey House

  • Laura Collett is staying at Oaksey House, the rehabilitation centre for jockeys in Lambourn, to aid her recovery after a fall earlier this month.

She suffered lung damage and was placed in an induced coma following a rotational fall in an intermediate section at Tweseldown (8 July).

She was discharged from hospital last week. Eventing performance manager, Yogi Breisner, said she would not compete again “in the forseeable future”, but was in “good spirits”.

Laura’s stay at Oaksey House, which is run by the Injured Jockeys’ Fund (IJF) is being paid for by the Lottery-funded World Class programme for elite riders and the British Olympic Association’s Athlete Medical Scheme. Laura tweeted that she was “hugely thankful” for their support.

A spokesman for the IJF told H&H: “She’s settled in and has started gentle physio.”
