Kieren Fallon loses final appeal against ban

  • Kieren Fallon has lost his final appeal to reduce his 18-month worldwide ban. The ruling was given on Monday, 3 March, after his hearing eight days earlier.

The six-time champion jockey was issued with the ban in January by France Galop (H&H online news 25 January).

Mr Fallon was given the suspension when he tested positive for a banned substance after winning the Prix Morny at Deauville on Myboycharlie on 19 August 2007.

The test came just two months after Mr Fallon had returned to race riding following a six-month ban for a previous positive test.

The suspension is due to end in September 2009, when Mr Fallon will be 44 years old.
