Jessica Kurten’s suspension is put on hold from 15 July

  • Jessica Kurten’s two-month suspension has been put on hold from next Tuesday, 15 July by the Court Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

The staying of the suspension came after the International Equestrian Federation (FEI) said it would be unable to attend a CAS hearing scheduled for 15 July — to hear Ms Kurten’s appeal against the ban.

The FEI decided on 7 May to suspend Ms Kurten from 7 June – 6 August as a result of a prohibited substance being found in horse Castle Forbes Maike, ridden by Ms Kurten at La Baule in 2007.

As the next available date for her appeal hearing is not until September CAS has put off the suspension until they make a decision on the case.
