Jessica Kurten wins the Queen’s Cup in Belgium
Irish showjumper Jessica Kurten took the Queen’s Cup at Belgium’s five-star show in Mechelen yesterday (Tuesday, 28 December).
The 41-year-old rider pipped French challenger Caroline Nicholas to the prize by just fractions of a second.
Riding Lady Georgina Forbes’s 10-year-old chestnut mare Castle Forbes Cosma in the ladies-only class, Jessica won €2,000 in the 15-horse jump-off.
Jessica and Castle Forbes Cosma finished in a time of 37.33 while Caroline Nicolas finished in 37.39. In third was Aniek Poels from The Netherlands.
