Ifor Williams Christmas present puts a family in the pink

  • Girls have always loved the colour pink — so when trailer manufacturers Ifor Williams donated a pink trailer to the charity Breast Cancer Care there must have been hundreds of little girls up and down the country begging for their parents to place a bid.

The lucky recipients of the distinctive trailer were seven-year-old Amelia Potter and her mother Celia.

Amelia’s father, John Potter, a Norfolk businessman who owns Potters Holidays Ltd, placed his bid online while relaxing on the beach in Cyprus.

The gift served as a Christmas present for both his daughter and his wife.

“Amelia is a typical seven-year-old and happens to need transport for her pony Russett, and I knew she would love it to be pink,” he said.

The charity auction was part of the annual campaign In the Pink and the trailer was displayed at the Horse of the Year Show.

Mr Potter’s bid of more than £6,000 secured the trailer which would usually have sold for £4,000.
