Horses head for the capital

  • A new exhibition for horse enthusiasts will be held at the London Docklands from 19-22 April 2001.

The Equus 2001 event will be a shopping heaven with trade stands featuring horse clothing and equipment, riding holidays, rider clothing and products, bookshops, colleges, saddlers, internet companies, insurance, veterinary products, feeds and supplements.

Many of the main equine associations and charities will also be represented.

Demonstrations and displays that have been provisionally booked include Mary King and Richard Davison.

The Whitaker family intend to challenge a polo team to a mini game in the main arena, while Charlotte and John Lassetter plan to amuse with a comical dressage to music display.

Other displays will include equine behaviourist Michael Peace, the Metropolitan Police and Andalusian horses, as well as polocross and driving.
