Horsebox builder under police scrutiny

  • Police are investigating Gloucestershire horsebox builder Nick Hobson following a string of complaints from customers.

Mr Hobson of Cotswold Horseboxes was the subject of a major H&H news story (1 February 2007) after he took tens of thousands of pounds from clients to build lorries he has now left neglected and partly built.

The article spurred a number of his former clients to approach H&H, and Gloucestershire Police are now asking for more information.

“We’ve had a number of calls from people who have paid money and work hasn’t been done,” said a police spokesman. “It is now beingn treated as a criminal matter and being followed up as such.”

If you have any information or a complaint, contact Gloucestershire Police (tel: 0845 0901234).

  • The case against Claire Wales of Highbarn Horseboxes, who has been charged with three offences of deception and one of theft, has been adjourned until 17 April.
