HAPPA gets four wheel drive donation

  • HILLENDALE Land Rover in Nelson, Lancashire, has donated a Land Rover Defender 90 to the Horse and Pony Protection Agency (HAPPA) to help the charity respond to emergency calls and rescue injured animals.

HAPPA, which celebrates its 70th anniversary this year, receives about 20 requests for assistance every week at its headquarters in Briercliffe, near Burnley.

The new vehicle will be of particular use in coming months with challenging weather conditions and consequent rising call numbers.

Ken Cranage, chairman of HAPPA, said: “This donation means we will be relieved of the cost of the vehicle and that extra money can now be spent directly on equine welfare.”
