Essex County Council is calling on horse show co-ordinators and other countryside event organisers to come forward and take advantage of free publicity in their popular Festival of the Countryside Campaign.
The Festival of the Countryside, which runs from 26 May 26 to 2 September, is in its ninth year, and aims to promote all the countryside events that Essex has to offer.
Smaller shows often have to rely on the wider public to make their events viable, and the campaign acts to attract precisely those outside visitors.
It is hoped that this year’s Festival will bring in record number of visitors, not just from Essex but also London and the surrounding areas.
Any show organisers in the Essex area are encouraged to contact (tel: 01245 437548) or email tourism@essexcc.gov.uk if they would like to be included in this year’s campaign.
