Equine model stars in Fortnum & Mason’s Christmas catalogue

  • An equine model from Cornwall finally got his big break, appearing in the Fortnum & Mason’s Christmas catalogue… as a pink unicorn.

Mr Happy is on the books of several model agencies and this summer finally hit the big time when he was asked to take part in a Christmas shoot for the luxury London store.

The Lipizzaner-shire — who has locks that nearly touch the ground — had to undergo a rigorous beauty regime to prepare for the shoot, which included having his mane tamed using hair straighteners.

Mr Happy had to spend 12hr on set in Surrey in the middle of the July heatwave surrounded by cameras and polystyrene snow.

Initially, the shoot co-ordinators asked for Mr Happy to be dyed pink, but it was later decided it would be easier just to photoshop on the colour and his horn.

Despite his new-found fame, Mr Happy is managing to keep his hooves on the ground.

I wouldn’t say he is a diva,” his owner Rosie Malcolm told H&H. “But he does like to keep himself to himself.”
