Equestrians recognised in Queen’s Birthday Honours


  • Jacky Wood, the chief executive of the British Show Jumping Association (BSJA), has been awarded an OBE for services to sport in The Queen’s Birthday Honours.

    Jacky was one of five members of the equestrian community to be recognised in the honours list.

    Another was British Horse Society (BHS) member Brenda Wickham, who received an MBE for services to public rights of way.

    A delighted Brenda said: “I am absolutely thrilled to receive this honour. Working to improve rights of way has been my interest and passion for many years, and I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as a volunteer.”

    Sandringham stud groom Robert Rowlands (Bar to RVM), Balmoral ponyman Michael McNaul Muir (RVM) and Royal Mews vet Simon Knapp (LVO) also received honours.
