Equestrian land making up to £40,000 an acre in East Midlands

  • Prices and demand for equestrian land in the East Midlands are soaring, with prices per acre starting from £10,000, a local firm of land agents has reported.

Loughborough-based chartered surveyors Mather Jamie says prime sites in Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Derbyshire are fetching as much as £40,000 per acre.

Mather Jamie is currently marketing land in Wysall in South Nottinghamshire which consists of quality grazing land and stables as well as change of use consent for livery use on part of the site.

Gary Kirk of Mather Jamie said: “We recently sold a 32-acre site with racing gallops and stables at nearby Costock as well as grazing land at Peggs Green in North West Leicestershire and 17 acres of grassland on Denby Common, Derbyshire.

“All sites attracted a great deal of interest and achieved firm prices, reflecting the high demand for good equestrian land across the East Midlands.”
