Equestrian industry sponsorship round-up

  • SSG Gloves sponsor HOYS arena party

SSG Gloves have been named as the new sponsor of the arena party at the Horse of the Year Show (HOYS). The arena party will consist of students from South Staffordshire College, who will be hard at work assisting the course designer and builders throughout the show, which is being held at Birmingham’s new LG Arena (7-11 October).

Edward James, President of SSG Gloves, said: “We are really proud to be associated with such a world famous show as HOYS. We feel our product will appeal to the broad equestrian enthusiasts that attend the show, whether they are a serious competitor or amateur rider, our gloves are suited to all abilities.”

    Bucas announce new dressage sponsorship

Bucas is sponsoring the winter medium freestyle dressage championship, which will be held at the BD Winter Championships at Hartpury in April 2010.

This is Bucas’ first equestrian sport sport in Britain, although the company has a number of existing equestrian sponsorship in other countries including Germany, Ireland and Scandinavia.

Ulf Casselbrant, managing director for Bucas, which is based in Cork, Ireland, says: “Bucas’ sponsorship roots have traditionally been within eventing and show jumping; sports which are very popular in our native Ireland. Event riders Sharon Hunt and Oliver Townend use our rugs and we now aim to introduce dressage riders to the benefits of a Bucas product.”
