Equestrian employers and employees are being asked to take part in an online survey to gauge the size of the industry.
The skills agency Lantra has worked with the British Equestrian Trade Association, the British Equestrian Federation and the British Grooms’ Association to launch an equine skills census.
Previous estimates identified just 3,400 equestrian businesses in the UK, making the industry a low priority for government funding. But initial findings from this research have identified at least 19,000 businesses.
To take part, tel: 0845 707 8007, or visit www.lantra.co.uk/equinecensus.
The consultation ends on 5 March.
