Endurance GB donates £1,000 to Redwings Horse Sanctuary
Endurance GB (EGB) has donated £1,000 to Redwings Horse Sanctuary to help support the horses, ponies and donkeys rescued from Spindles Farm, Amersham.
The donation was prompted by discussions on the EGB forum following the rescue in January.
John Yeoman, chairman of EGB said: “There were many requests from ride organisers for permission to ask entrants for an extra one pound at rides, to collect for Operation Esther, or permission to run events specifically to raise money for the rescued horses.
“But the management committee felt that a more immediate response was called for, and that is what led us to give this substantial donation.”
Nicola Markwell at Redwings told H&H: “It’s wonderful news. We are absolutely thrilled — it’s a really nice gesture.
“The horses are doing really well, they are settling into a routine. We are doing more handling with them and some of them are still quite nervous. But they are making great progress.”
