Carl Llewellyn unlikely to ride in the Grand National

  • With the 2008 Grand National just over a week away (Saturday 5 April) dual race winner Carl Llewellyn has confirmed that he is unlikely to be taking part.

In February Carl told H&H (H&H online 7 February) that he would be tempted to make a one-off race-riding comeback to take part in the 2008 Grand National. But the jockey-turned-trainer has since said that he will “probably not be riding”.

Carl, who won with Party Politics in 1992 and Earth Summit in 1998, told H&H: “Let’s put it this way, my gym shoes are still clean.”
