Apprentice jockey in hospital in Barbados after car crash


  • Apprentice jockey Louis Beuzelin is still in hospital in Barbados after breaking eight ribs, puncturing a lung and rupturing his spleen in a car accident.

    The accident happened in the early hours of Saturday morning (14 November). The 19-year-old’s mini hit a tree and a house and the jockey had to be cut from the car.

    The apprentice, who is based in Newmarket with Sir Michael Stoute, suffered extensive injuries and was knocked unconscious for an hour and a half. Subsequent brain scans revealed no damage.

    On Monday (16 November) he underwent an opeation to remove his spleen. He is now concious and in recovery.

    Reports suggest he will be in hospital for two to three weeks.
