    Five things you didn’t know…

He has won 17 out of 32 starts under Rules – including his first ever run, a National Hunt Flat race at Ayr in 2003.

During his eight-year career he won £683,265 in prize-money.

Monet’s Garden has won at eight racecourses – but Aintree is his most successful track, winning there five times.

In January 2011 he was given only a 50/50 chance of survival after developing a serious hoof infection and David was advised to put him down.

He was going to be called Artist’s Garden – as owner David is an art fan – but as the horse is from France and David loves Monet’s paintings, he settled on Monet’s Garden.
