Event riders now have the chance to win up to $150,000 (£77,000) in the new HSBC FEI Classics series of top events around the world.
The five four-star events that comprise the HSBC FEI Classics are the Rolex Kentucky three-day event, the Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials, the Luhmuhlen CCI****, the Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials and Les Etoiles de Pau.
The top 10 riders at each event will pick up points that go towards the HSBC FEI Classics ranking where the top five win prize-money. HSBC will put forward a total of $1million over the next year.
Event rider Harry Meade said: “The increased prize-money will help cover the great costs associated with the sport.”
