Success for Piggy French at Aston-le-Walls (5)

  • The Townend/French show dominated the CIC** at Aston-le-Walls, filling four of the top seven places. Victory went to Piggy French by just 0.6 of a penalty from her boyfriend, Oliver Townend riding Waterview.

Piggy and Cast Away II added nothing to complete on their dressage mark in this 50-plus strong section.

Terry Boon dropped down from first and third positions after the dressage with Theatre Royal and Always Owen to complete in fourth and 10th respectively. Kitty Boggis and Opposition Heracles claimed third after posting two fault-free jumping rounds.

Antoinette McKeowen and Dinah Murdoch’s consistent campaigner Two O Two won open intermediate section D. Carly Reid and On The Contrary filled the runner-up spot. Third and fourth places went to Hannah Bate with Bromley Mill and Beau Bear respectively.

New Zealand’s Jonelle Richards and Nemo II emerged victorious in open intermediate section C, finishing exactly one penalty ahead of Oliver Townend and Waterbeck Basil.
