Caroline Pratt benefits from Rodney Powell misfortune, as Flintstone IV suffers a minor injury
Rodney Powell has been forced to withdraw from the British eventing squad for the European Championships at Pau, France (11-14 October) due to a minor injury to his horse Flintstone IV.
Caroline Pratt will take Rodney’s place in the six-strong squad with Frances Kinseys’ Primitive Control. Caroline and Primitive Control were sixth at Badminton and eighth at Bramham in 2000. The partnership completed Saumur CCI***, in France earlier this year, and was 25th at Thirlestane Castle CIC***.
Caroline will join reigning European champion Pippa Funnell (Supreme Rock), Leslie Law (Shear H20 or Shear L’Eau), Jeanette Brakewell (Over To You), William Fox-Pitt (Stunning or Tamarillo), and Tina Cook (Captain Christy). The squad will be defending both team and individual titles at the event.
The squad will leave Waresley Park in Bedfordshire on Saturday, 6 October and aim to arrive in Pau early Sunday morning. The final choice of team and individual riders will be decided at the event.
