Poplar Park one-day event


  • Piggy French won Poplar Park’s advanced intermediate section on her one-day specialist Chicago II, ahead of Oliver Townend and his World Games partner Flint Curtis, reports Julie Harding. Third was Phoebe Buckley riding The Busker.

    Phoebe was the bridesmaid in the open intermediate section riding the diminutive Little Tiger, courtesy of Oliver and Northacres Best Wishes. Crown Farm Consort finished third with J-P Sheffield.

    The sole intermediate section went to Oliver on his new ride Daisy Crazy, ahead of Andrew Nicholson riding Paul Ridgeon’s six-year-old Trafalgar.

    Paula Holland won the intermediate novice section with Tops Tiger, pushing Mary Edmundson on Rapidash Fire into second. Dr Emma Devereux was third with Wilfred Wynn.

    The open novice class went to Jordana Marston riding Direct Dilemma, with Piggy French on Cast Away II in second. The two novice sections were won by Holly Farrer (Warrenstown General) and Sarah Wales (Matin D’Ete).

    Katie Barrett won the open pre-novice on Blondie III, while the pre-novice sections went to Jo Chipperfield (Jamboree II), Patricia Price (Final Flourish) and Mary Edmundson (Greenfields Bits And Pieces).
