Polly Stockton leads overnight at Blenheim

  • Polly Stockton and Regulus produced an impressive dressage performance on the first day of Blenheim International Horse Trials to claim an early lead.

However the judges seemed split on Polly’s performance with a disparity of 22 points between them. Polly’s score of 47.2pen secured her first place overnight, ahead of Jo Aston riding Southern Rumour on 50.0pen. Polly rides Westwood Jocker towards the end of the day tomorrow.

Andrew Nicholson is handily placed in third on 51.3 with Armada, with the next three British riders all within a single penalty of the New Zealander.

A number of competitive partnerships are riding tomorrow including Tina Cook and Miners Frolic, Oliver Townend and Eldmire Foxy Lady, Clayton Fredericks and Dunges Laurent Rose and Marie Ryan with Sparrow Hall so there is still plenty of time for the leaderboard to change at this early stage.
