William Fox-Pitt (pictured) is gradually reining in Oliver Townend’s lead at the top of the Horse & Hound advanced eventing league. The gap between the two prolific top riders has been reduced to 28 points after the Festival of British Eventing at Gatcombe.

Andrew Nicholson has disposed Lucinda Fredericks from third place in the league, while Polly Stockton has moved up into fifth place ahead of Chris King.
Following the cancellation of Hartpury International, the next event where riders can pick up points is Thirlestane Castle (17 – 19 August).
