Oliver Townend fined by BE for threatening another rider

  • Eventer Oliver Townend has been fined £1,000 by British Eventing (BE) after being found to have verbally abused and threatened another rider, James Adams.

The incident took place in the show jumping collecting ring at Oasby Horse Trials on 30 September, last year.

Mr Townend disputed the claims against him but the BE Disciplinary Committee, which met on Friday (14 March), found against him.

Another allegation that he had also verbally abused the owner of Mr Adams’ horse, Jenny Clark, was not substantiated.
