Lucy Wiegersma heads the Brits at Ede CIC***


  • France’s Aurlien Kahn and Lord De Lignire put up a superb performance to win the CIC*** at Ede in Holland by more than seven marks, from Andreas Dibowski on FRH Little Lemon.

    Italys Susanna Bordone finished third on Ava, just ahead of Australias Andrew Hoy riding Peaceful Consort.

    Best of the Brits was Lucy Wiegersma on Woodfalls Inigo Jones, who made a meteoric rise from 48th place after dressage to fifth place on the final day.

    Germanys Julia Mestern finished sixth on Hamlett, while the home crowd was delighted to see Hollands former European young rider silver medallist Huub van der Mark finish seventh with Exquis Idem Du Roc.

    Mary King finished 12th with Kings Fancy after jumping clear in both phases.

    The CCI** was won by Lucinda Fredericks and Frances Smarts Mr Alligator on their dressage score.

    The CCI* went to Germanys in-form Dirk Schrade on Grand Amour, with Bumble Thomas on her one-star debutante Cool Diamond runner-up.

    Dirk also won the CIC** with Huskey ahead of Dutch rider Tim Lips on Oncarlos. Lucy Wiegersma was again best of the Brits, in fourth on Granntevka Prince.
