Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials given environmental award
Burghley Horse Trials has been given an award for its efforts to be eco-friendly.
The horse trials in Lincolnshire was presented with a silver award by the environmental acceditation scheme Investors in the Environment (iiE), at its awards ceremony on 30 April.
“We have been very impressed by the work Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials has carried out to reduce its environmental impact over the past year,” said Kim Coley from iiE.
“We hope they continue their efforts and consider pushing for the ‘Green Award’ [the top award] next year.”
In 2012 Burghley reduced its landfill event waste by 70%, electricity usage by 2.7% and installed a drinking water filter, reducing plastic bottles purchased by 60%.
