Ian Stark leads in Kentucky

British riders show their strength after the first day of dressage in the Rolex CCI****
Ian Stark is leading the Rolex three-day event in Kentucky, USA after the first day of dressage.
Jaybee’s test of 44.4 leaves Ian in a strong position, ahead of American rider Kim Vinoski with her Blenheim-winning ride Winsome Adante on 48.2. William Fox-Pitt is in third place with Stunning, just 0.4 penalties behind.
Home riders claim the remaining top 10 places with David O’Connor (Tigger Too) fourth, Karen O’Connor (Regal Scot) eighth and Buck Davidson (son of Bruce) in 10th place with Class Touch. All three have more rides to come today.
Ian and William will also be in action again today with their second rides Saucy Brown, who was fourth in 1998, and Springleaze Macaroo respectively. The remaining British riders, Leslie Law (Shear L’Eau) and Claire Phillips (Capuchin), are also riding their dressage tests today.
