Eventing goes indoors


  • British Eventing has announced five new indoor competitions in an effort to replace some of the lost spring season.

    The classes, at pre-novice, novice and open intermediate level, will be amixture of show jumping, scored on style,as well as penalties, and a timed cross-country section, including a mixture of fixed and knock-down fences .

    Each horse will be allowed to contest a maximum of two classes and each rider four classes. Horsesmay run hors concours in the novice sections, while the OI will be open to novice, intermediate and advanced combinations.

    The fixtures all take place at centres outside FMD restricted areas, and while there is currently no restriction on where riders may come from, conditions of entry include total compliance with MAFF disinfection regimes.

  • 4-5 May Towerlands, Essex

  • 12-13 May Arena UK, Lincs

  • 19-20 May Forest Edge, Norfolk

  • 23 May Thorpe Grange, Lincs

  • 26-27 May Medstead Grange, Hants
