Bowmore Blair Castle International Horse Trials and Country Fair has seen off competition from iconic sporting institutions such as the Scottish Football League to take the “Best Long-term Sponsorship Award” at this years Scottish Sport Sponsorship Awards.
Bowmore Blair Castle International Horse Trials is Scotlands leading equestrian event and one of only three international three-star horse trials in the UK. Bowmore Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky has sponsored it since 1996.
The event takes place in the grounds of Scotlands most visited historic home, Blair Castle, and last years attendance figure showed a 267% increase during the past eight years.
Horse Trials director, Sarah Phillips, says: “Were delighted to achieve this kind of recognition for a Scottish sporting event that is truly on the international map. The Bowmore Blair Castle International Horse Trials attracts competitors from around the world and 33,000 people came to watch last year.”
