See British Olympic contenders in action

  • Readers keen to see our Olympic eventers in action will be rewarded by a trip to Bramham this weekend (10-13 June) where almost the entire British squad is in action – only Pippa Funnell has not entered a horse.

The GB eventing squad will also be parading on Household Cavalry horses at the Windsor race night on 21 June. For tickets, contact Monika Hunt (tel: 07802 498786).

Aston-Le-Walls Horse Trials (23-25 July) is aiming one of its advanced sections specifically at Olympic horses, which could provide a last run before Athens for some selected combinations.

Course-designers Ann and Nigel Taylor have consulted GB team trainer Yogi Breisner, who was at the Athens test event, over the cross-country course. Among those pencilled in are Sarah Cutteridge (The Wexford Lady) and William Fox-Pitt (Tamarillo) .
For details, contact event secretary Fiona Haynes (tel: 07941 076360).

The British dressage contingent will be out in force at the CDI Rotterdam (17-20 June). Wayne Channon (Lorenzo CH) and Peter Storr (Gambrinus), who have both been short-listed as possible reserves, will be in action, alongside team member Nicola McGivern (Active Walero).
