FEI creates post of dressage judge general

  • Dutch judge Ghislain Fourage, who has officiated at Olympic and World Equestrian Games, was elected as international horsesport’s first dressage judge general at the five-star judges’ seminar in Warendorf.

The new post has been created to “ensure greater consistency and accuracy at all levels of dressage judging”, said the FEI.

Mr Fourage’s primary responsibilities will be to initiate and co-ordinate discussions among judges, the FEI and course directors.

Trond Asmyr, FEI director of dressage and para-dressage, said: “We needed to create a ‘leader judge’ role to ensure that all judges follow the same lines.”
