A trio of wins for Kate Johnson and Oscar II saw them achieve winter regionals qualifications at novice and elementary level at Richmond Equestrian Centre (16-17 November), reports Andrea Oaks. Tracey Barraclough won the novice 27 with her home-bred Midnight Wonder, while Helen Lloyd-Herrington and Hiscox Kaluchi secured a convincing prelim 18 win.
Ridinghill Donovan II enjoyed success at Ingliston Equestrian Centre, Bishopton, on 17-18 November, with Lucy Gatensbury, reports Hilary Mactaggart. They are now qualified for the winter championships at both elementary and medium.
Jo Barry and Vivaldi V posted an impressive 76% in the medium music class. Jo also added the novice music title to her tally with Waratah IV. Lee McKendry also topped 70% to head the elementary winter qualifier with Udonis, who also won the open medium winter qualifier.
Anne Johnston’s 17.2hh bay gelding Affinity Grandeberg, won the advanced medium winter qualifier as well as the composite class. Another double winner was Susan Dunlop, who won the advanced medium music with Rockhill Proud As Punch and the PSG equivalent on Leon IV.
Kate Paskins and North By Northwest shared the same score in the elementary restricted at Rowallan Activity Centre in Ayrshire (23-25 November) to take the honours alongside stable-mate, Piroc, reports Hilary Mactaggart. Piroc later got the upper hand on North By Northwest, pushing him into second place in another elementary test.
Gemma McDougal completed an elementary double on Carlton Night Flight, while Sheona McNeill and Santa’s Ghost posted two medium wins this time out. Ruth Edge and Paper Tiger completed a treble including two medium wins plus an advanced medium victory.
