H&H’s young rider bursary winner turns her hand to music

  • Horse & Hound’s 2010 young rider bursary winner is proving that her talents stretch beyond the equestrian world.

Eighteen-year-old Olivia Deane from Warwickshire has made it through to the regional final showcase of “Live & Unsigned” – the UK’s biggest original musical competition – which takes place on 15 April in Reading.

She will be bidding for a place in the grand final at London’s O2 Arena.

Olivia competes her event horse Country Lonestar at one-star level and writes songs and sings in her spare time.

“I’m on my gap year at the moment before university and my plan is to do music and horses,” she told H&H.

Olivia is also working for Ferdi and Geri Eilberg at their Worcestershire yard which is only two miles from where she is based.

“I’ll work for the Eilbergs and ride my horses during the day and practise my music in the evening,” she said.
