Weatherbys has launched its prestigious guide to top stallions, The Stallion Book, on the internet
Thoroughbred breeders from around the world can now access Weatherbys’ prestigious Stallion Book via the internet at www.stallionbook.co.uk
The book, which contains in-depth information on more than 200 of the world’s leading stallions, will continue to be printed in its traditional format and sent free of charge to every breeder with two or more broodmares in Britain and Ireland each November.
However, the launch of the website will enable racing and breeding professionals and enthusiasts from around the world direct access to the important breeding information contained in the publication.
The site will be officially launched in November to coinside with the publication’s latest edition. It is being sponsored by attheraces and will be promoted via the attheraces television channel, bringing breeding information to a new television audience.
Stallion owners will benefit from an online presence, including photographs and optional video footage and a direct link to the entrant’s own web site, while mare owners can check out the extended pedigree of their chosen stallion plus up-to-date information on the performance of the sire’s progeny.

As well as the ability to search for a stallion by name, sire, performance and location, the site also provides links to Weatherbys Eclipse Onlineand Weatherbys Group sites.
Future developments are likely to include the online publication of Weatherby’s National Hunt Stallion Book.
