Starving dog dumped at kennel

  • The RSPCA is appealing for help after a starving dog was foundtied to the gates by staff at Ewloe Kennels and Cattery in Ewloe, near Hawarden in North Wales.

The emaciated bitch was discovered on 29 November at 10.30am, staff at the kennels immediately contacted the RSPCA and inspector Nigel Edwards took bitch to be examined at a local veterinary surgery.

Inspector Edwards said: “The dog is in an extremely poor condition and was starving when she was found. It is obvious that whoever abandoned her at the kennels could not cope, but they should have asked for help instead of dumping her like rubbish.”

“It is appalling that anyone can dump an animal in this a way. Owning a pet is a lifelong responsibility and people should think carefully before they decide to have any animal.”

Anyone with any information relating to the abandonment should contact the RSPCA, in strictest confidence (tel: 08705 555 999) or click here to visit the RSPCA’s website.
