    Tester’s comments

“Saddlecraft’s Contessa jodhpurs come in a range of great colours and have coped well with being worn regularly both around the yard and in the saddle.

“Unfortunately, the cut didn’t really suit my petite frame. I think they would suit a more curvaceous rider better as the depth from waist to crotch is quite generous.

“However, cotton material is quite light, making them ideal for summer wear and they washed well.

“I prefer jodhpurs which are made from a more stretchy material, such as Saddlecraft’s Flamenco jodhpurs, as I found this design quite tight around the knee when crouching down to fit brushing boots and when mounting from the floor.

“I thought the belt loops were a useful addition, as was the zipped front pocket. I didn’t use the elasticated stirrups but they are a useful optional extra.”

Verdict: A great value pair of leisure jodhpurs for curvy female riders
