  • Top rider unveils new facilities

    Olympic show jumper Geoff Billington officially opened Myerscough College’s new £1m indoor international arena earlier this week (Tuesday, 1 April).

    The arena has a 30x80m riding area, plus a heated gallery with seating for 400 and is linked to the college’s existing indoor school. The building also includes a tack shop, restaurant, bar, new workrooms and a high-speed tilting treadmill with a glass-fronted viewing gallery.

    A number of displays were held to celebrate the official opening of the new facilities, including demonstrations by Geoff and dressage judge, rider and trainer Clive Halsall, a musical display by Myerscough students, a parade of the Thwaites brewery Shire horses and tours of the facilities,led by students.
