Meet the SEIB Search for a Star pony finalists

  • Kim Short’s show hunter pony, Chinook Paprika, collected his HOYS ticket at Wellington, ridden by her 14-year-old daughter, Kristie.

Kim bought the 6-year-old bay gelding, by Colbeach Splendour and out of Chinook Nectarine, in January 2008. This year they have qualified for RIHS.

“He is such a poppet at home and is much loved,” says Kim. “Qualifying for HOYS is been an ambition since we started showing and we are delighted!”

Anysha Panesar claimed the remaining HOYS place on her mother Caroline’s Scannan Valley Supreme. Caroline bought the 9-year-old grey gelding 2 years ago.

“We tried to qualify at Towerlands and Addington, but it was third time lucky as we qualified at Wellington! Qualifying for HOYS is amazing – we have wanted this forever!” says a very pleased Anysha.
