Pippa Funnell and Supreme Rock
Supreme Rock became the first horse to win Badminton Horse Trials back-to-back for 15 years.
Pippa Funnell retained her Mitsubishi Motors Trophy at Badminton – but only just. An agonisingly slow show jumping round, in which she had the first part of the treble down, brought her within 0.4 penalties of runner-up Piia Pantsu.
This terrific win put Pippa on track to land the biggest prize in the history of eventing, the US$250,000 Rolex Grand Slam.
