Groom of the year 2000 launched

  • As one of the workers who cares so well for our horses and ponies Grooms Club members now have a chance to get recognition and reward they deserve, by entering the annual competition to find the Horse & Hound Groom of the Year.

The first prize is a fabulous £2,000 in cash, plus £250 each for five runners-up.

The winner will also win a trophy for the year which has been commissioned by Christine Stafford, one of the judges of the inaugural competition and the founder of the National Association of Grooms. All finalists will also receive branded clothing from Blue Chip, the Grooms’ Club lead sponsor.

The competition takes place in two stages. First, write and tell Horse & Hound magazine about your career, including any qualifications and previous employment, in not more than 300 words, please send it along with the form below.

All entries will be scrutinised by an expert panel and six will then be selected for a judging day at the Moreton Morrell Centre at Warwickshire College in early December.

You employer could be a winner too!

Honda is offering the winning groom’s employer the chance to win a new Honda TRX350 ES 4WD ATV worth more than £5,000.

The all-terrain vehicle is specificially designed to meet the needs of every busy equestrian.
