Groom finalists prepare for showdown

Six finalists in Horse & Hound’s second annual Groom of the Year competition have been chosen from an entry of very high calibre.
The final takes place on 11 December at Warwickshire College, Moreton Morrell, Glos.
The winner will receive£2,000, plus a Honda ATV worth £5,000 for her employer to use on their yard.
The finalists are:
- Norma Hedley, head girl at a private yard in Essex. She has 20 years experience in showing and international show jumping yards
- Sara Ingleson, working in international show jumping
- Joanna Lawson who works with disabled riders. She has previous experience in international eventing
- Alison Pocklington works at a high profile riding centre in the north of England and as a competition groom
- Helen Williamson, head girl at a high profile stud in the south of England. She has previous experience with international competition horses
- Shelleigh Wyatt has 20 years experience incarriage driving.
